About Me
My diving began when I retired in mid-1998, a month shy of age 63. I found I loved it, and wanted to share what I saw with family and friends. The following year I joined the
San Diego Underwater Photographic Society, started taking photos, and another passion developed.
About My Photos
I started with a Nikonos V camera, 28mm lens, extension tubes and framers for 1:3, 1:2, and 1:1 macro, and an Ikelite 100A strobe. I subsequently added a 15mm lens and a second 100A strobe. In mid-2003 I went digital with an Olympus C-5050Z, Olympus PT-15 underwater housing, and an Ikelite DS-50 strobe. I later added a second DS-50 strobe. At the end of 2007 I upgraded with the purchase of a Canon Powershot G9 and Canon WP-DC21 underwater housing.
Most of my diving has been in Southern California. However, quite a few of the photos on the web site are from several trips to Hawaii, and liveaboard trips to the Adaman Sea of Thailand and Myanmar in 2001, to the Soccorro Islands of Mexico in 2004, to Indonesia in 2005 and 2007, and to Alaska and British Colombia in 2006.
If you believe that I have misidentified any of the of the species in the photos on this website, please click here and send me an e-mail with the correct identification.
